The best way to know if a variety of fruit should be in your garden is to taste the fruit before buying the tree.   Chapters tend to have whatever is currently ripe at their meetings.

Please notify me of any fruit tasting event

    Ronni Kern · August 30, 2018 at 8:22 pm

You will have to keep an eye on the Events calendar or Facebook, since we are not set up to inform non-members of activities

My son is a member and I have been invited to some of your meetings, God bless you all for your kindness and your work educating us!!!
Please let me know of your next meeting.

Ah, Marie, the WLA chapter just met this past Saturday! We had Ray Teurman, a wonderful speaker on honeybees. Our next meeting will be in June when we will hear Leryn Gorlitsky, a professor at UCLA in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. While she is best known for her work on such light-hearted topics as mass extinctions, another of her specialities is Tropical Ecology which should help us understand exactly what is going on on our back forties. You can always get the most up to date information on our website: https://wla.crfg.org

If your son is also a member of the LA Chapter, their calendar is at http://crfg-la.org/calendar.html.

Hi, Ronnie- Can you update your club calendar with June’s meeting site and address? Thank you.

Lisa, which chapter? We have 22! (If you mean WLA which I currently chair, that will be posted soon)

Would like to know when you have fruit tastings.

    Ronni Kern · July 6, 2020 at 2:43 pm

Ryan, with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are obviously not doing any face to face events. When things reopen, find the chapter nearest you and check in with them for informal chapter tastings. Statewide tastings (from UC Riverside, etc) we will try to post here if we are informed.

I have a lot of trees on my small piece of property but need to learn more about the care of them.

    Ronni Kern · August 19, 2020 at 8:45 am

IF they are fruit trees, locate your nearest chapter on our Chapter page and join up!

How can I be a member?

Elaine Vu · October 22, 2021 at 11:49 pm

I went to one of these rare fruit meetings about 15 years ago and really enjoyed trying rare fruits and sharing the rare fruit from my mom’s garden. I would like to attend upcoming meeting when we bring something to share? Is that still around anymore?

    Ronni Kern · November 18, 2021 at 8:23 pm

Elaine, meetings are just beginning to start up again. I would contact your closest chapter to see what events are planned.
